Robert ‘Hoss’ Cartwright, 30, of Athens, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022.
Robert was born in Corbin, Kentucky, on Feb. 18, 1992, the son of Sheryl and Wayne Tanner. He was employed with Huber Engineered Woods as a control room operator. Robert never met a stranger and loved people. He enjoyed being a volunteer fireman for many years. Robert always gave his all whenever he did any job. He enjoyed smoking meats, campfires, four-wheeling and anything outdoors.
Robert was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Larry Douglas; great-grandfather, Warren Douglas; and his beloved dog, Grace.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his fiancée, Emily Keaton and their three furry children, Lilah, Bella and Jolene; sister, Miranda Leah Campbell (Jordan); stepsister, Tiffany Tanner Bice (Billy); stepbrother, Lance Tanner (Shauna); two nephews, Tyson and Carson Campbell; maternal grandmother, Linda Douglas; and great-grandmother, Georgia Douglas; aunt, Carolyn Hill; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Cleveland, with Dr. Jay McClusky and Arlin Gurley officiating.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to McKamey Animal Center, 4500 N. Access Road, Chattanooga, TN 37415.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.
