Repsy (Nannie) J. Crisp was born in Cleveland on July 4, 1943. She passed away in Murfreesboro on Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, while in the local hospital.
She was an amazing daughter, mother, Nannie and friend. While living in Cleveland for many years of her life, she was a member of the Central Church of Christ. She was so loving and committed to all five of her children and six grandchildren. Repsy had three special needs sons, Robert, Justice and Artie Crisp, also known as the “boys.” Michael Shane Crisp was her fourth son and she had one daughter, Joyce Ann Kraner. She loved her special boys very much and always strived to keep them active and involved with the family, community programs and church while living in Cleveland.
In December 2000, Repsy survived a ruptured appendix and needed help caring for the boys, so they moved in with Scott and Joyce Ann, along with their family. Over the next 22 years, she lived in several cities including Alabama, Richmond, Virginia, and Murfreesboro. She truly enjoyed being a part of her grandchildren’s lives and deeply loved True, Austin, Laura Jo, Hudson Kraner and Harter and Hayden Crisp. She was also very proud of all her nieces and nephews. In 2021, she welcomed a new granddaughter in love, Lindsey Kraner.
Everywhere Repsy lived she shared God’s love and exemplified happiness, joy and hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. She wore a sweet smile, and she always talked about her mother, Mama Jo, and her father, Daddy Don, as being the most perfect godly example for her. She always reminisced about her life while living in Cleveland, along with her wonderful parents, brother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and dearest friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Joyce White; her brother, William Dee White; and one son, William Justice Crisp.
Repsy is being remembered by Robert and Artie Crisp of Huntsville, Alabama; Shane Crisp (Harter and Hayden) of Knoxville; Scott and Joyce Ann Kraner (True (Lindsey), Austin, Laura Jo and Hudson Kraner) of Murfreesboro; her sister-in-law, Barbi White and family, and several cousins and family friends.
There will be a visitation/Celebration of Repsy’s Life from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022, at Central Church of Christ in Cleveland.
There will also be a private graveside service for the immediate family.
Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Street Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
