I am not an English scholar; nor was I a poetry major or an expert on Arthurian legends, and although I’m not sure whether David Lowery, director of “The Green Knight,” would profess to be any or all of these either I think he would defend his latest work as an intricate and challenging amalgamation of many of the interpretations of the tale of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.
