Leashia Denai Hughes

Leashia Denai Hughes, 29, was welcomed into this world on May 31, 1993, and then welcomed into her eternal life on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023.

Leashia was born in Cleveland to Rita Hughes and the late Jimmy McClure Sr. She loved her children and being around other children. Leashia loved dogs and music, especially Lil Boosie. She had a smile and a laugh that was contagious. She was full of life and appreciated sharing laughter with friends and family.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her devoted grandparents, Nellie Ware and Ernest Hughes.

She leaves to cherish many joyful memories with family and children, Saniya Hammonds, Devontaye Jackson and Nature Hobock; mother, Rita Hughes; brothers, Tony Hughes and Jimmy McClure Jr.; sisters, Lakeshia Hughes, Sharita McClure and Shannell Hewlett; uncles, Russell (Rhonda) Ware Sr. and Anthony "Butter" Ashmore; aunts, Cynthia Boston, Twynette “Bolly” Ware, Darla Ware and Brenda Ware; a special friend in whom she loved dearly, Brandon Hobock; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023, in the chapel of Companion Funeral home.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
