Lawrence Edward Roberts, 88, of Cleveland, departed this life on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, at his residence.

Born in Sharon Grove, Ky. on Feb. 17, 1932, to the late Eugene and Nettie Roberts, he was a member of The Church of God and a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. Lawrence loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Barbara Neff Roberts; children: Lawrence Roberts Jr. (Donna), Mark Roberts (Sandy), Timothy Roberts (Becky), Julie Steele (Joe) Alisa Williams (Sam), Connie Werkheiser (Kevin), Laura McDaniel (Tim) and Malissa Hawkins (Robert); sister, Adalene Wright; brother, Arvil Lee Roberts; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

A Celebration of Life and Home Going for Lawrence Edward Roberts will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, at The Church of God, located at 193 Tillie Road N.W. Cleveland, Tennessee 37312, with his sons-in-law: Joe Steele and Robert Hawkins, officiating.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday at the church.
