Joe Thomas Scoggins

Joe Thomas Scoggins, 77, a resident of Birchwood, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022, at his home.

He was the son of the late Joe and Maggie Scoggins; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Manda Ellen Scoggins; a daughter, Penny Scoggins; and one brother and sisters.

He was a longtime self-employed heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by his son, Jessie Scoggins (Tara Laymon); daughters, Tommie Shelton (John), Marcella Gosselin, Ida Scoggins, Tonya Scoggins and Tina Cook; brother, David Scoggins; sisters, Sandy Brannon, Connie Strickland and Phyllis Price; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, Wildwood Chapel.
