Isaac Asberry Hicks

Isaac Asberry Hicks, 83, was born to the Rev. Noah and Sarah Pike Hicks in Polk County on Oct. 22, 1939. He went to be with Jesus on Sunday, March 12, 2023.

He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Durham, North Carolina. He had pastored many churches over 40 years of pastoring and led countless people to faith in Christ Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his son, Paul; brother, Henry; and sister, Lois Tompkins.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Clara Faye Morrow Hicks; daughter, Lisa (Glenn) Estes; grandchildren, Stephen (Maria) Estes, Lauren (Matthew) Meinel, Michael (Erin) Estes and Philip Estes; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. His siblings who survive him include Billy Hicks of Etowah, Gracie (Boyd) Harvill of Crossville, Joe (Willa) Hicks of Sweetwater, Josephine Farrell of Calhoun, Johnny (Carol) Hicks of Cohutta, Georgia, Geneva (Kenneth) Morris of Etowah, Jimmie (Bill) Hamilton of Cleveland, Gene (Tracy) Hicks of Cleveland and Dean (Vicki) Hicks of Friendsville.

Family will welcome friends for visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, Wildwood Avenue Chapel, in Cleveland.

Funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen Estes officiating.

The interment will follow at Meadow Fork Baptist Church Cemetery with Timothy Womac officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International (gideons.org, 866-382-4253).
