Herman Dallas Davis Jr.

Herman Dallas Davis Jr. was born on April 7, 1943, to the late Herman D. Davis Sr. and Margaret C. Vernon Davis, and woke up in the arms of his Lord on Monday, Jan. 23, 2023.

He was born and raised in Bradley County where he attended Prospect Elementary and Bradley High schools. He was a respected and much loved Southern Baptist preacher for more than 40 years. Herman was a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church but lately attending Maple Street Baptist in Cleveland.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Peggy Ann Davis; daughter, Leanne Denise Davis; and son, Michael “Mike” Davis.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Robert Ted Davis (Carrie) and Dennis R. Davis (Darlene); and numerous church friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church. The funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m. at the church.

No graveside service will be held.
