Harry ‘Ted’ Chase Jr.

Harry Theodore “Ted” Chase Jr., 79, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at his home.

He was a used car dealer for many years. Ted was a member of Chilcutt Methodist Church. He enjoyed playing the piano and listening to music. Ted loved to aggravate his loved ones and make people laugh. Most of his loved ones were given a nickname. He loved his wife and family and was so proud of them. Ted loved being a grandfather and, most recently, a great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Theodore Chase Sr. and Ann Simmons Chase.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret McClure Chase; children, Harry McClure “Mac” of Atlanta, Georgia, David Scott (Whitney) Chase and Becky (William) Jenkins, all of Cleveland, and Dawn (Joey) Owenby of Mineral Bluff, Georgia; four grandchildren, Kristen (Clarke) Taylor, Chase Jenkins, Ben Carroll and Jax Carroll; two great-grandchildren, Thomas Taylor and Will Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022, at New Friendship Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Arp and the Rev. Renny Whittenbager officiating. Chase Jenkins, Ben Carroll, Jax Carroll, Clarke Taylor, Frank Faulk and Chad Moore will serve as pallbearers.
