Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all she knew.

She lived her early childhood in Bradley County and settled in Sweetwater. She married Bud Hicks on Aug. 31, 1946. Together they raised a family of six children. She was a founding and oldest member of both the Sweetwater Primitive Baptist Church and the “Red Hot Honeys” of the Red Hat Society.

Her home was the gathering place for the entire family. On every major holiday everyone assembled at Mamaw’s house! All those holidays were like miniature family reunions.

There was a graveside service at Sweetwater Memorial Park on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sweetwater Primitive Baptist Church building fund (c/o Ken Douglas, 174 Tasso Ln NE, Cleveland, TN 37312).
