Dustin Samples

Cpt. Dustin Samples, 41, of Cleveland, departed this life on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at his residence.

Born on April 30, 1979, he was a native and lifelong resident of Bradley County and a member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland.

Captain Samples served his community with the Cleveland Fire Department and was a member of the Cleveland Professional Firefighters Local 3748. He was a 1997 graduate of Cleveland High School.

He had a true passion for service to others and loved spending time with his family and his brothers with whom he served.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Katie O’ Daniel; and paternal grandparents, Katherine and James Samples.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Jennifer Henderson Samples; children: Rylan, Blakely and Hollyn; parents, Larry and Charlotte Eaton Samples; sisters: Stephanie Lalonde (Daniel) and Stephanie Deverell (Darren); and brother, Jeff Samples (Yennitza). Several extended family members and a host of friends and family in Emergency Services and Public Safety also survive.

A Celebration of Life and Home Going for Captain James “Dustin” Samples will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Cleveland, with Brother Steve Morgan officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the church.
