Curtis Creed Harris, 77, of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord, peacefully surrounded by his family, at his home, on Monday, March 27, 2023.
Curtis was born on March 23, 1946, to the late Alden and Ruby Harris. He was the brother of Muriel (Marie) Harris, Don (late wife Francis) Harris and Bob (Phyllis) Harris.
Curtis was a 1964 graduate from Bradley Central High School where he played football. He retired from UPS after 38 years of service where he was best known by his CB handle, “Exhaust Pipe.” He enjoyed spending time in the mountains with his family, loved riding motorcycles and was a race car enthusiast. He was an active member of Ridgeview Baptist Church and truly loved the Lord.
He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Patsy Ruth Harris; three daughters, Karen Harris-Edwards, Amy Harris-Filyaw and Kelly Harris Young (Brad). Left to cherish the many memories are his beloved grandchildren, Jessica Bonner (Andrew), Corey Young (Schyler), Logan Young (Anna) and Jarod Young and Amber Filyaw; and four great-grandchildren, Isaiah Edwards, Karson and Oliver Young and Zander Young. And though papaw is now in heaven, he was so excited to be adding another special great-granddaughter, Autumn Emmaline Bonner, in May who will know all about her great-papaw’s legacy.
Curtis’ family will receive friends from noon to 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Ridgeview Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 3 p.m. The Rev. Ken Purdie will be officiating.
He will be laid to rest following the service at Beaty Cemetery.
You are invited to share a personal memory of Curtis or your condolences with his family at his online memorial at www.companionfunerals.com.
