An article in Tuesday’s edition of the Cleveland Daily Banner about the Bradley County Commission approving a tax increase included an incomplete and incorrect statement attributed to Commissioner Milan Blake.
In Blake’s comments regarding the need for commissioners and the county mayor’s office to work together, he referred to “something pretty big” in September. The article incorrectly connected that comment to a proposed $12 million bond issue to be used to fund the renovation of the Partnerships in Industry & Education Center, or PIE Center. Blake did not refer to the PIE Center, which is not scheduled to see a potential bond issue until fall of 2020.
The Banner apologizes for the error and any confusion it may have caused.
