Cordie Mae Davis

Cordie Mae Davis, 83, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, at the family residence.

Cordie was born in Cleveland and was one of 13 children born to the late Nancy Lillie Weese Evans and Albert Frederic Evans. Her husband, Marvin Davis, and several brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.

Cordie was a beautician for 30 years, and she owned and operated Lovely Lady Hair Fashions. Along with her husband, Marvin, they owned and operated Athletic Apparel and Flagstone Golf Course. Cordie love to quilt and play cards and games with her family and friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Gregory Davis (Betty) of Austin, Texas, and Gary Davis (Rhonda) of Cleveland; grandchildren, Jonathan Davis, Lyndsy Davis, Cali Davis and Kyle Davis; great-grandchildren, Stella Grace Morgan and Tabatha Davis; sister, Barbara Huff (Bobby) of Cleveland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted at noon on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee Chapel, with Tom Wickes officiating.

Graveside services and interment will be conducted at the Chattanooga National Cemetery and will be held privately for the family.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday at the funeral home.
