Colleen Crowe Bennett

Colleen Crowe Bennett, 91, of Cleveland, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023.

She was born in Cherokee, North Carolina, on Oct. 3, 1938, and graduated from Bradley Central High School in the Class of 1951. She became the loving wife of the late Don Bennett, on July 5, 1966, and started her family. She was a longtime member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church of Cleveland.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Lon and Christine Crowe; her beloved husband of 49 years, Don Bennett; son-in-law, Tommy Pendergrass; and brothers, John Crowe, Bill Crowe, Elden Crowe, Jack Crowe and JB Crowe.

Survivors are her children, Debbie Pendergrass and Sandra Caldwell; grandchildren, Christina (John) Milen of Old Fort, Chris (Lindsay) Pendergrass of Trussville, Alabama, and John Caldwell of Cleveland; great-grandchildren, Eli (McKenzie) Milen, Ian Milen, Jax Pendergrass, Ben Pendergrass and Lalanie Caldwell; sister, Betty Martin; and living best friend, Dorothy Freaks.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home, 2415 N. Ocoee St., Cleveland.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday prior to the service.
