Cheryl Susan Justice

Cheryl Susan Justice, 68, passed away on Monday, Jan. 23, 2023.

She was born on Nov. 14, 1954, to the late William Homer Ridenour and Charlotte Michael Ridenour. Cheryl lived in Bradley County since 2012, moving here from Rhea County where her husband pastored the Dayton Church of God (2000-2011). Prior to that, she lived in Collinwood (1994-1996 and 1997-2000) and Cartersville, Georgia (1996-1997). She came to Cleveland (1981-1994) from Oklahoma.

She was a member of Grace Community Church of God. Cheryl (aka Cherel) loved traveling, reading, poetry, friendship, writing and editing. She was a published author of several works. Through the years she engaged in several arts and crafts projects. Most of all, she loved the Lord and shared her faith and counsel freely. During the 1980s and early '90s, she did administrative work at Lee College and the Church of God International Offices.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Michael Ridenour; and her father, William Homer Ridenour.

She and her husband, Robert (Mike) Justice, were married for 50 years. They have two daughters, Judith Cheryl Dulaney (married to Scott Dulaney) and Ishah Justice. She has four living siblings, Charlotte Reneck, William Timothy Ridenour (Kathy), Michael Ridenour (Renee) and Roger Ridenour (Angela). Grandchildren include Cameron Dulaney, Michaela Dulaney and Hadassah Dulaney.

Cheryl’s family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at Grace Community Church, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 7 p.m.

She will be laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Friday.
