Charles Wilbur McBee


Charles Wilbur McBee, 81, of Cleveland, went to his Heavenly Home on Thursday, April 14, 2022.

He was born on Sept. 22, 1940, to the late William Charles McBee and Hattie Allene McBee.

Charles was a lifelong resident of Cleveland. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his family. He worked as a truck driver for many years and always had a great sense of humor. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Myrtle Wooden, Donna Moore, Jaunita Scoggins, Carol Coe, Lena Shaw and Mamie Wooden; brothers, Flavis Scoggins, Arron Scoggins and Billy Scoggins; and a granddaughter, Amanda Arrowood.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 52 years, Mary McBee; daughters, Laura McBee, Debby Killebrew (Jason) and Linda Arrowood (Joe); brother, Calvin McBee (Diann); sisters, Catherine Ledford (Ed) and Thelma Morgan; grandchildren: Jessica, Tyson, Courtney, Bailey, Gabriella, Kylee, Tuesday, Shea, Eric, Zackary and Sean; and nine great-grandchildren.

Charles’ family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2022, at Union Missionary Baptist Church on Hughes Lake Road.

A Celebration of His Life will be held at 2 p.m. at the church on Tuesday. He will be laid to rest following his service at Fort Hill Cemetery. Eric Ballard, Zackary Arrowood, Sean Arrowood, Tyson Burrell, Jason Barrera and Scott Barrera will serve as pallbearers.
