Charles Mac Finnell, 82, of Cleveland, peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, surrounded by his family and friends who loved him.
He was born on June 1, 1940, in Cleveland, to the late Frank and Opal Finnell. Charlie worked for 35 years with the Colonial Baking Company and was known as “The Bread Man” to many during his time with Colonial. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
Charlie was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing church league softball. He also loved traveling with his family. Charlie loved his family dearly and above all he was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother- and father-in-law, Al and Ruby Rose; and sister, Jo Ann Hooper.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 61 years, Sally Rose Finnell; children, Beth Finnell (Rob McGowan) and Alice Davidson (Jamie); brother, Frank Ray Finnell (Janice); grandchildren, Meredith Foster, Maddie Williams and Olivia Davidson; two nieces, Cindy Finnell Hall and Debbie Hughes Carlton; nephew, James Hughes; and numerous extended family members and friends.
A gathering of friends to celebrate Charlie will be held at a later date.
