Brenda Carder

Brenda Carder, 81, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, Jan. 23, 2023.

She was born on Feb. 9, 1941, to the late T.D. and Dovie Caldwell.

Brenda graduated from Tennessee Tech University with a bachelor’s degree and was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. Brenda served the children as an educator for more than 30 years as an English teacher and librarian. She loved her family and spending time with them.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Carder Sr.; grandson, Bradley Carder; and brother, David Caldwell.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Fred Carder Jr. (Janene) and Mark Carder (Jennifer); grandchildren, Josh Carder, Will Carder, Mary Cate Carder and Anna Carder; great-grandchildren, Adelynn, Greyson, Evie and River; sisters, Debbie Walker and Julie Works; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Brenda’s family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at First Baptist Church Cleveland with a service to follow at 7 p.m.

She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 11 a.m. on Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
