Billy Mason

Billy Clarence Mason, 86, of Georgetown, departed this life on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.

Born on Feb. 1, 1936, in Sweetwater to the late Claude and Ethel Mason, he lived a majority of his life in Meigs County and was a member of Eastview Baptist Church. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force and member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Billy was retired from Bradley County Schools after 25 years of teaching at Hopewell Elementary. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on the farm and with his family.

Left behind to cherish his memory, are his loving wife of 55 years, Betty Colegrove Mason; children, Linda Gail Mason-Silva (Felix), Billy Mason II, Diana Mason Bivens (Alan) and Regina Brantley (Wayne); grandchildren, Christina Seeley (Joe), Zach Driggers (Amy), Piper Brantley, Bree and Tia Brantley, Macy Bivens and Rachel Bivens; great-grandchildren, Nora, Rae, Ashton and Lucy; brother, Carl Mason; sister, Betty Thompson; as well as several extended family members and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Life and Homegoing for Billy Clarence Mason will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Eastview Baptist Church with Shane Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Decatur Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home.
