Betty J. Epperson

Betty J. Epperson, 98, of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022, in a local healthcare facility.

She was born on April 3, 1924, and lived most of her life in Cleveland. She worked for Bradley Memorial Hospital for 25 years. Upon retirement, she was a full-time homemaker. Betty was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church. She loved her church, her family, friends and her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Donald S. Epperson; her first husband, Lt. Jack Manis; parents, George and Thelma Faulkner Jones; and sisters, Jackie Harrington, Patsy Luster and Nippy Diumberto.

Survivors include her daughters, Connie (Ralph) Earby of Cleveland and Donna (Wayne) Remillard of Fenton, Michigan; son, Donald Epperson Jr. of West Broomfield, Michigan; grandson, Dean (Lisa) Earby of Cleveland; granddaughter, Leslie E. (Christy) Earby of Decatur, Georgia; four stepgrandchildren; great-granddaughter, Gabby Earby (Timothy) Davis of Memphis; great-grandson, Cannon E. Earby of Decatur, Georgia; her bright star, great-great-grandson, Teddy Davis (he was the fifth generation and a very proud moment for her); and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens, with Dr. Jay McCluskey officiating.
