Amanda Lynn Myers


Amanda Lynn Myers, 39, of Decatur, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, in a Chattanooga hospital. 

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Girdie Belle Moore; grandfather, Alfred Myers; aunt, Brenda Blair; and uncles: Jerone Myers, Tommy Myers and Hank Myers. 

Myers enjoyed working in her vegetable, flower gardens and cooking. 

She was a devoted mother to her "babies" and she loved spending time with her girls and shopping. 

She read her Bible every day and attended the Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters: Jada Raine Norwood and Layla Brooke Norwood both of Decatur; mother, Kathy Stone, of Decatur; her father, Jacky Myers of Cleveland; maternal grandparents, Jeffery and Linda Myers of Decatur; maternal great-grandmother, Virginia Quinn of Cleveland; sister, Jackie Gatlin and her husband, Tommy; her half sister, Amber Prince and husband, Scotty; aunts: Dorothy Rogers and husband, Ray, and Lorene Womack and husband, Roy, all of Cleveland; her special friend, Gail Stephens of Maryville; and several uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
 The remembrance of life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel, with Pastor Mark Cameron officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Good Hope Baptist Church in Meigs County with Anthony Underwood, Tommy Gatlin, Roy Womack, Bill Myers, Alan Couch and Lucas Leffew serving as casket bearers. 

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
