Magnolia Garden Club

October Meeting and Drawing

The October monthly meeting of the Maghnolia Garden Club on Oct. 23, was originally set for ACE Hardware on 25th Street to do the Pumpkin Painting with children.

ACE felt that it would not be appropriate with the virus, so one of our members, Sheila Webb, our chaplain, volunteered at George R. Stuart Elementary.

The day was beautiful. We had the pumpkin painting out in the school's vegetable and herb garden. ACE supplied the pumpkins and we provided the paint, brushes, plates and accessories needed. Seven of our Club members came to make the day fun for the children.

Brandi Beard, a kindergarten teacher and Title 1 family coordinator at Stuart, also helped. From 9:30 to 10:30, Kindergarten, first and second- graders decorated pumpkins, from 10:30 to 11:30, third and fourth-graders were invited to paint pumpkins.

We served apple cider, water, and special pumpkin muffins with fresh cream icing and pumpkin spice sprinkles — made by the Cleveland High School Culinary Arts program — for the parents, children and club members. We appreciate all of the parents, children and extra helping hands that made for a special fun morning.
