One evening last week, I was privileged to have dinner with some friends. As we finished our loaded potatoes, the host brought in the dessert — a beautifully decorated four-layer cake. He set it down in front of me and handed me a knife, saying for me to do the honors of cutting it. But when I tried to slice it, I realized it was plastic. Yet it looked so real!
