Doug Towne, with Cleveland State Community College’s Law Enforcement Training Academy, assisted students in CSCC’s Forensic Science STEAM Camp with a crime scene investigation on Monday, July 11. The camp offers students the opportunity to gain skills through hands-on experiences in the discovery of a crime, crime scene investigation and evidence analysis. Topics covered include evidence collection, forensic osteology (bones), fingerprint analysis, blood (synthetic) typing analysis, DNA analysis and ballistics. Participants started the week documenting and collecting evidence from a mock crime scene and setting up a CSI laboratory.
