This is a high energy show featuring eight singers and dancers and a sizzling jazz trio.
“The Great American Songbook” is a stunning journey through a century of American music. Each chapter of the songbook is brought to life through show-stopping performances by a dazzling cast, creative sets, colorful costumes and clever choreography.
The innovative potpourri of popular music is showcased among many scenes including a 1940s’ radio show, “The Wizard of Oz,” which is recreated in seven minutes.
There is a salute to Motown’s The Temptations and The Supremes. Classics from Rogers and Hammerstein and the Gershwins are revamped into spine-tingling tap dance routines, plus songs from more modern hit makers like Michael Buble, Ray Charles and Billy Joel.
There are musical arrangements of award-wining songs from “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” to “Route 66” to “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” that makes this a memorable musical moment for every family member.
A membership will also admit you to the two remaining concerts: “Legacy of Floyd Cramer” featuring Jason Coleman, Cramer’s grandson, and the “Dallas Brass,” a group of six gentlemen who play various brass and percussion instruments.
They will perform their patriotic medley with members of the Walker Valley High School band.
