CHATTANOOGA — Playing four matches in as many days, Walker Valley Coach Bob Williams gave some of his top players the day off Wednesday but those who got the chance impressed with easy victories over Chattanooga Christian School at Brown Acres.

After playing on successive days to open the season, Williams put his back-up golfers into action as the Mustangs and Lady Mustangs stepped up with victories to run their season record to 2-0.

Freshman Karie Bishop was the low medalist in Wednesday’s match with Chattanooga Christian, shooting a 42. Sophomore Britani Pederson added a 47 as the Lady Mustangs won, 89 to 97.

The boys defeated Chattanooga Christian 166 to 185. Junior Clay Keller was medalist with a 38, while Duggan Cannon and Bryson Riggs matched 42s and Zach Kilby had a 44.

The rest for the first-stringers was in preparation for a tough District 5-AAA match today against Soddy-Daisy at Valleybrook Golf and Country Club.
