The builder of this featured Home of the Week said it’s the little touches as well as the benefits of forward thinking that the new owners will enjoy. Chad and Sarah Dean of Dean Custom Homes LLC always add special touches to their custom constructions.

The Deans made sure the “green will be coming back to the new owner because of the green he used in its finishing.” This is a new Frank Betz-designed dwelling and it is located at 746 Abby Glen.

The floor plan is just a tad different from several other Betz-designed homes, according to the builder.

This is the first time the application has been used by the Deans, who also went with a slightly different color scheme for the exterior.

Finished in red, white and blue, it lends a unique appeal and is distinct among the other Craftsman-styled homes in Abby Glen. It’s different in a good way and blends with its neighboring structures.

The two-story dwelling is situated on a nice lot — beautifully landscaped, including sidewalks and a concrete drive. Added touches are custom gable and cornice decorations. The brick and stone exterior is complemented with architectural Hardie Plank and vinyl accents.

The Deans used a slightly different stone to help showcase the structure.

Once through the front door, the new owners will begin to experience the “eye-appeal” amenities added to the house. Custom-paint colors were used throughout the abode. A wainscotted formal dining area is situated near the modern kitchen. Custom-wood floors were also placed in the dining, kitchen and living room areas of the home. The main living area features an open-air feel with cathedral ceiling and gas-log fireplace as well as beautiful custom moldings, which have been expertly finished and painted.

Modern stainless steel appliances were furnished in this kitchen. Plenty of granite counter space was provided along with custom cabinets, complementing the wood floors. At the rear of the new home, a spacious, a relaxing and large open-air screened-porch awaits family members.

This is situated near the kitchen and breakfast nook, which features a bay-styled window.

The master bedroom features an extra-depth trey ceiling. Accent lighting was used throughout the home. The home has three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Just off the spacious master suite, a large bath featuring a jetted tub, glass and custom stone shower, private water closet and large walk-in closet for clothing is furnished.

A neat shoe rack was also installed in the master walk-in.

Granite counter spaces were utilized in this bath as well as the smaller shared bath for the two other bedrooms. Tile was used in all bath areas and a utility room. A spacious laundry area has also been provided with cabinet space.

Dean said what the new owners won’t see are the additions which will save money in the future.

“We have to build green homes for our clients now. The future savings will return money to their pockets by using these proven ideas such as wrapping the homes, durable materials, stone, cellulose insulation, controlled air, energy-efficient windows and appliances,”

The home also features a two-car garage on the main level, complete with electronic openers. Alarm systems have also been placed in the home. Cable, ceiling fans and a central heat and air unit are also included amenities.

The Deans have several more new homes in the planning stages. Melody Smith of Keller Williams Realty is the agent for this new home offered by Dean Custom Homes LLC. This home has approximately 2,450 square feet.
