Joan McGuire St. John, affectionately known as “Gram,” 77, of McDonough, Ga., passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2014.
St. John was born in Lenox, Tenn., the daughter of the late Joe McGuire and Carrie Head McGuire. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wayne St. John.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, doting over her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially pampering her kitty cats and gardening.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Marsha St. John of Cleveland and Phillip and Dianne St. John of Ranger, Ga.; grandchildren: Christie Biffle (Kreg) of McDonough, Joseph St. John of Chattanooga, Travis St. John of Austin, Texas, Kara St. John of McDonough, Ashley Kocher of McDonough, Amber Williams of McDonough and Raven St. John of Ranger; great-grandchildren: Anslee, Connor and Ella Biffle, all of McDonough; and sister, Carolyn Hall and husband, M.D., of Dyersburg.
A service for St. John will be Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Wade officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
