Tammy Lay, a special education teacher at Lake Forest Middle School, was the guest speaker at the Cleveland Civitan Club this past Wednesday. She presented a program about students with learning disabilities. She explained what is required to help students learn to function effectively in the classroom with these disabilities. Tammy also did a short demonstration of how a person who is autistic may perceive the world around them. From left are Civitan Joan Brown, Lay, and Civitans Rita Haynie and Jennifer Wisti. The Civitan Club presented a check to Lay for use in the Lake Forest special education program.
