According to a report filed by deputy Paul Singleton of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, he spoke with Denise Montgomery, who stated that someone has taken nine chickens, five ducks and a guinea from her property during the past two weeks.
Montgomery said she hasn’t noticed any strange vehicles in the area, but did say whoever was taking the animals could be traveling on foot.
The birds were valued at $250.
- A High Street vacant house was the target for another HVAC theft. Copper components were taken.
According to a report filed by deputy Bryan Chancey, he responded to the property to speak with Andrew Brown.
Brown said the theft occurred sometime during the past eight days.
The house is typically used as rental property.
According to the report, copper wiring had been taken but no other damage or missing parts were noticed.
- Two mailboxes were reportedly damaged in different parts of the county.
According to a report filed by BCSO deputy Mark Miller, he spoke with Gurstel Buckner, who said someone took a mailbox from its post and threw it at his own mailbox, causing damage. Buckner lives in the Mountain View Drive area off Dalton Pike.
Deputy Brandon Coffel filed a report for Lee Jackson, who lives in the Peachtree Circle area of the Michigan Avenue community.
Jackson said someone had struck his mailbox with something, causing significant damage.
He valued the mailbox at $100.
Buckner assessed his property damage at $30.
Investigation is continuing.
