Linda Faye Bowman, 62, a resident of Old Fort, passed away Monday evening, Aug. 4, 2014, at the family residence.
She was the daughter of the late Marie Moore Ballew and Earl Houston Ballew. Her son, Tracy Bowman and her brother, Donnie Ballew also preceded her in death.
She worked for more than 35 years in the Carpet Mill Industry. She retired from J and H Carpet Mills where she worked in the scheduling department. She loved working in her flower garden and camping with her family. She loved being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren and her family. She was a member of the Boanerges Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Bobby Bowman of Old Fort; daughter, Amy Bowman Stafford and her husband, Michael; her son, Scotty Bowman and his wife, Ann, all of Old Fort; her grandchildren: Haley Bowman, Emilie Lawson, Casey Lawson, Kaitlyn Stafford and Megan Stafford; her brother, Gene Ballew and his wife, Johnnie, of Old Fort; her aunt, Hazel Pullen of Crandall, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at 1 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. David Evans officiating.
Interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Tennga, Ga. with Tony Ballew, Barry Ballew, Jody Ballew, Randy Bowman, Terry Bowman and Jeff Bowman serving as casketbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening, Aug. 6, 2014 at the funeral home.
