Sam Freeman, 68, a lifelong resident of Tellico Plains, passed away on Sunday morning, Aug. 3, 2014.
He was born on July 17, 1946, a son of the late Selous and Edith Freeman.
He was a member of Popular Bluff Baptist Church in Tellico Plains. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was especially gifted at squirrel hunting.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Lee Freeman.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory two sisters: Marie Queen of Madisonville and Linda Gourley of Tellico Plains; and two brothers: Jerry Freeman and his wife, Shirley, of Georgetown and Gene Freeman of Texas; numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Millers Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Dodson officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from noon until the 2 p.m service time.
