Dorothy “Dot” Brackett, 91, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, in a Chattanooga health care facility.

She was the daughter of the late Columbus and Mittie Shell Dixon. She was also preceded in death by her son, Terry Brackett; a grandchild; three sisters; and two brothers.

She and her husband attended Washington Avenue Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Hubert T. Brackett; her granddaughter, Crystal Summers of Cleveland, great-granddaughter, Tabatha Teri Summers of Cleveland; sister, Sue Dixon Vaughn of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at noon at the Wildwood Ave Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Beecher White officiating.

The interment will follow in Hilcrest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.
