The Summer Youth Jam, an initiative of the Bradley Cleveland Community Services Agency’s college employment program, will be held on July 26 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The day will include fun for children ages 5 to 14 on the grounds of the Senior Activity Center.

Activities will include jumping inflatables, corn hole, sack race, egg relay, wheel barrel race, crab walk, three-legged race, 100- meter relay, cake walk, face painting, water balloons and free food. Another activity on tap is the dunk tank. Leaders from the local area have volunteered to sit in the tank.

Moms and dads are encouraged to bring their children.

This day is designed to give everyone in the family a fun opportunity to get active in a safe, friendly environment.

“For many families, the summer months can be hard on the household budget due to vacation and childcare expenses. With this in mind, the interns worked hard to create a ‘back to school’ initiative that is free for the whole family,” said Demetrius Ramsey, CSA executive director.

“One of our goals was to create an affordable event that enables families to make lasting memories and have fun. So this event gives local families a really special opportunity to have a great day,” said Danesha Jones, CSA intern.

The summer interns of Bradley Cleveland Community Services Agency have gained valuable project management experience with a number of projects over the years. Some achievements from the last four years include the design and implementation of two summer youth camps, website design and program reconciliation.

This is the fourth year of CSA’s College Employment program.

Brice Sharp, who recently graduated from Lee University with a degree in business administration, is the senior member of the group. Danesha Jones is a junior at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga majoring in early childhood education. Tevin Rutledge is a junior at Middle Tennessee State University majoring in recording industry music business. MaKayla Colbert is a junior at East Tennessee State University majoring in Nursing. Justin Ware is a sophomore at Tusculum College majoring in Computer information systems. Jason Ware is a sophomore at Tusculum College majoring in pre-pharmacy.
