Hiwassee Mechanical Contractors Inc., a provider of heating and air-conditioning services in Cleveland and the surrounding area along with Carter Heating & Air Conditioning of Chattanooga jointly announced the two firms are merging.

Dave Einerson and Joe Gardner of Hiwassee and Pryor Bacon Jr. and Shannon Miners of Carter Heating & Air made the joint announcement.

Dave Einerson, speaking for Hiwassee, said with the two companies working together the additional staff and customer base would allow for better and broader service to customers of both companies.

Hiwassee has a history of more than 50 years of service in the community, and Carter has more than 37 years.

Hiwassee has been doing work in Ooltewah and Harrison for a number of years, and Carter has been doing work in Cleveland prior to the merger.

Having a greater number of employees and working hard to maintain the customer base of both companies will allow for more growth and profitability that will allow the companies to continue to grow.

“Growth at the companies will then help us to expand and improve services that we have offered in the past,” added the principals of both companies in a joint news release.

Hiwassee operates under the trade name of Hiwassee – Chase – Air Systems and is a combination of three companies that include Hiwassee, Chase Heating and Air Conditioning and Air Systems.

Hiwassee acquired those companies in 2003 and 2004.

“All of us at both companies are very excited with the opportunities that lay before us,” the release noted.
