Katheryn Lewis Goodwin, 89, a resident of McDonald, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014, in a Collegedale health care facility.
She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church since 1980. She worked in the Mother’s Day out at Broad Street United Methodist Church until her 80 birthday.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Goodwin; parents, Tony Lewis and Emma Goins Lewis; sister, Alice Edith Roach; and a brother, C.T. Lewis, who lost his life in the Korean War in 1952.
She is survived by her two children: Judi Shoemaker and husband, Redd and Kelly Goodwin and wife, Kay, all of McDonald; six grandchildren: Lebron Shoemaker, Stacia Hayes, Tyreia Binns, Kyler Goodwin, Kole Goodwin and Kash Goodwin.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Caywood officiating.
Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery in McDonald with Paul Goodwin, Dale Goodwin, Neal Goodwin, Robbie Binns, Alec Binns and Tim Stafford serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
