Polk County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred at a Baker Bridge Road residence late Thursday afternoon.

According to reports, the shooting occurred around 5:30 p.m.

Detectives worked into the late evening and early morning hours, according to officials.

No additional details were immediately available.

- A Toro riding lawnmower and other items were reported missing from a Union Road address and according to previous accounts, this is the second burglary at the residence within the past few months.

Roger Knight said someone entered his home and took a dishwasher, kitchen faucet, two bath faucets, two shower heads and the riding mower.

The home had just been recently completed, according to Knight, who filed a report with Bradley County Sheriff’s Office deputy Darren Miller.

Knight estimated his loss at $1,575.

According to a report filed in January by deputy Doug Graham, Knight said he and his wife returned home and discovered the front door of her home had been damaged.

A garage window had also been damaged, according to the report.

Once inside, burglars reportedly took an antique handgun, a Smith & Wesson .38-caliber handgun, a filigree-gold heart pendant and miscellaneous gold chains.

Damage to the residence was assessed at $825, and loss was estimated at $2,400, during that incident.
