Cleveland Police learned a car had been stolen after the juvenile driver and its occupants were critically injured when they crashed on Westside Drive Friday morning.
CPD officers responded to a crash involving two vehicles just after 6 a.m. Three people were inside the car which was discovered to have been stolen earlier from a 19th Street residence.
According to Evie West, information officer for CPD, witness reports indicated a white Toyota Camry was headed south on Westside Drive when the driver lost control, crossed over the centerline and struck a GMC Acadia which was traveling northbound.
The occupants of both vehicles were transported to Erlanger Medical Center for treatment.
West said two of the juveniles were 15 and 17 years old.
According to West, the juvenile driver was flown to EMC and remains in critical condition.
The driver of the Acadia was treated for less serious injuries, West noted.
Continued investigations revealed the car had been taken late Thursday or early Friday morning.
