FREE SPORTS CAMPS

BOWMAN HILLS FREE SPORTS CAMPS

Bowman Hills Seventh-Day Adventist Church is offering free soccer and basketball camps June 2-5. The soccer camp will run from 10 a.m.-noon and the basketball camp will run from 2-5 p.m. The camps will teach fundamentals, skill and values for boys and girls ages 9-13. BASEBALL

CLEVELAND STATE BASEBALL CAMPS

Cleveland State Baseball Coach Mike Policastro will conduct the following summer Baseball Camps: Youth Skills Camp, June 2-5 for ages 5-12. Camp hours will be 9 a.m. to noon. Campers will participate in group instruction and participate in a game each day. The cost for the camp is $75 and includes a camp T-shirt. Youth Pitcher/Catcher Camp, June 9-10 from 9 a.m. to noon, and a Youth Hitting Camp, June 11-12 from 9 a.m. to noon. Both camps will be for ages 8-16. The camps will consist of advanced instruction on the fundamentals of pitching, catching and hitting. The cost of the camps is $40 per session and includes a camp t-shirt. LEE UNIVERSITY CAMPS

The Lee Flames baseball team will host baseball camps in June and July. A day camp for ages 5-15 will take place June 9-12 at Olympic Field from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The cost is $110 per camper. A sibling discount and team rates are available. An advanced hitting, pitching and catching camp for ages 8-17 will take place July 7-9 from 9 a.m.-noon for hitting and 1-3 p.m. for pitching or catching. The cost is $70 for the hitting camp and $55 for pitching or catching. The cost for both camps is $110 for both sessions. The 2014 Bradley Baseball Camp will be held June 10-12 from 9 a.m.-noon. The cost for the camp will be $60 and will be for boy's ages 5-12. The Bradley Central High School Boy's Basketball team will be hosting their 17th annual basketball camp. The camp will be June 2-4 from 8:30 a.m. until noon daily. LADY RAIDERS SUMMER CAMP

The Lady Raiders Summer Basketball camp for rising first through eighth-grade girls will take place June 2-4 from 8:30 a.m.-noon at Cleveland Middle School. The camp is $50 per participant. WALKER VALLEY BASKETBALL CAMP

The Walker Valley Mustang Basketball Camp will be held June 2-5 from 9 a.m. until noon daily. The camp is for boys in grades 1-8 and will feature instruction from Walker Valley coaches, as well as current and former Mustangs players. HEART OF CHAMPION 3-ON-3 TOURNAMENT

The Colby Stansberry, "Heart of a Champion" 3-on-3 Basketball Challenge will be held June 7 at 9 a.m. at Cleveland Middle School. POLK COUNTY BASKETBALL CAMP

The Polk County Basketball Camp will be June 9-12 with daily sessions running from 9 a.m. until noon. The camp will be held at the Polk County High School gym and is open to boys and girls from Pre-K through 12th grade. The cost is $40 per camper. CLEVELAND HIGH BASKETBALL CAMPS

The Cleveland High Blue Raiders will host boys basketball camps featuring former Raider Vincent Yarbrough in June. The camp for 6-10 year-old boys will be held June 11-13, while the camp for 10-15 year-old boys will be on June 18-20. Both camps run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost to attend the elementary school camp is $55 ($85 brother rate). MARTY ROWE SKILLS & DRILLS CAMP

The Marty Rowe Skills & Drills Camp will be held June 24-28 at Lee University’s Walker Arena. The daily sessions will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., with early drop off, late pick up available. Friday the 28th the camp ends with awards ceremony at noon. Cost for the camp is $135, with those registering before May 15th able to attend for $125, which includes camp instruction, daily lunch, T-shirts, and prizes. Sibling discounts are available. LEE BOYS BASKETBALL ACADEMY

Lee University men’s basketball coach Tommy Brown is offering his Lee University Boys Basketball Academy this year on two separate weeks, for ages 5-16 on July 7-11 and July 21-25 from 9-4 p.m. (Fridays end at noon). The camp’s skilled staff includes former players, current players and coaches. Campers will be instructed in ball handling, shooting, dribbling, defense and rebounding. BRADLEY CENTRAL GOLF MEETING

Any golfers interested in playing for Bradley Central High School’s teams this fall need to attend a meeting at the Cleveland Country Club on June 3. The Tuesday evening meeting will begin at 6 p.m., downstairs at the CCC facility. BRADLEY JUNIOR FREE GOLF CLINIC

Cleveland Country Club will host the Bradley County Junior Golf Clinic for golfers ages 5-17 on consecutive Mondays in June. The first clinic date is June 2 with remaining dates on June 9, 16, 23 and 30. Clinics for ages 5-10 will go from 8-9:30 a.m. and clinics for ages 11-17 will go from 9:45-11:15 a.m. There will be a final tournament on July 7. SE TN VETERANS HOME COUNCIL

The Southeast Tennessee Veterans Home Council will host its fifth annual tournament June 7 at Chatata Valley Golf Course. Registration begins at 7 am. Proceeds will be used to support construction of the Cleveland/Bradley County State Veterans Home. with a shotgun start at 8. The cost for the 4-person, select shot tournament is $60 per golfer and included green fees, lunch and door prizes. Donations are tax deductible. Prizes will be awarded for first, fifth and ninth place as well as straightest drive and closest to the pin and hole-in-one. GCSA SELECT TRYOUTS

The Greater Cleveland Soccer Association select soccer team tryouts will be held on two consecutive Saturdays on June 7 and June 14. U9, U10, U11, U12, and U18 will tryout from 9:30-11:30 a.m. both days. The Summer Soccer Camp for first through eighth grades will take place June 9-12 from 9 a.m.-noon at the Greater Cleveland Soccer Complex. Campers will receive individualized instruction and learn basic fundamentals, passing, shooting ball handling and defensive skills.

LEE SOCCER CAMP

Registration is open for the third annual Lee Soccer Camp June 23–27. The camp is designed for boys and girls ages 5-14 and will focus on ball skills and the technical development of young players in a fun and friendly environment. Lee men’s head soccer coach Paul Furey will serve as director of the camp. The camp coaching staff will be comprised of his assistant coaches and top players to ensure an enjoyable and educating soccer experience. Lee is offering two 1-day prospect camps July 9-10 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The camps may be attended separately or together. The camps are for 2014-2019 graduates as well as junior college students.
