Warren Neal Herron, 81, a resident of Old Fort, passed away Monday evening, May 26, 2014, in a local hospital.
Herron was the son of the late Ina Belle Morton Herron and Leonard Noel Herron. He was preceded in deathy by his sister, Brenda Herron; brother, L. N. Herron; and son-in-law, James “Rat” Pullen.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was retired from Hardwick Stove with more than 26 years of service. He owned and operated Herron’s Used Cars. He owned his own car haulers and enjoyed hauling cars for his business as well as other dealers.
He attended the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Buena Herron of Old Fort; his daughters: Shirley Pullen, Pamela Farris and her husband, Rick, all of Old Fort; his son, Dean Herron of Benton; his grandchildren: Chariti Scoggins, Heath Dunn, Hailey Stewart, Hannah Price and her husband, Erick, Shelley Morrow and her husband, Scott, Amanda Herron and Beth Herron; his great-grandchildren: Madison Scoggins, Hayden Ledford, Warren Price, Chandler, Chloe, Carley and Cole Stewart, Destiny Crabtree, Cayden Botts and Cayla Morrow; his sisters: Sarah Herron and Alice Herron, both of Cleveland; his brothers: Billy Herron and his wife, Betty, of Cleveland, Paul Herron and his wife, Barbara, of Old Fort and David Herron and his wife, Sharon, of San Antonio, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted Thursday afternoon, May 29, 2014, at 2 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Ken Stiles and the Rev. Charles Moore officiating.
Interment will follow in the Herron Family Cemetery with Nicholas Herron, Jerry Johnson, Junior Bain, Roger Cissom and Sky Perry serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
