She was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God. She served as a pastor’s wife where they spent 18 years at the Pentecostal Assembly which later became the Dallas Bay Church of God. She was a great pianist and organist. She played the piano at the Senior Activity Center in Cleveland on Monday mornings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Winfred Petty; parents; the Rev. E.W. and Ruby Carden; and brother, Charles Carden.
Survivors include her son, Darrin E. Petty (Alicia); sister, Frances Carden Snyder; brothers: Donald R. Carden and Harold W. Carden; grandchildren: Nicole Porter, David Porter and Samantha Mckeel (Timmy); and several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be Tuesday, May 27, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike in Soddy-Daisy.
The service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the North Cleveland Church of God with Bishop Mitchell Maloney officiating.
She will lie in repose from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Dividing Ridge Cemetery.
