Vernon P. Dagenais, 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday morning, May 21, 2014, at the family residence.
He was the son of the late Genevieve and Russell Dagenais. His first wife, Tempie Dagenais and his brothers: Russell, Butch and Kenneth Dagenais also preceded him in death.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the Air Force. He spent most of his life working in the furniture business and he managed several furniture stores in Michigan.
He enjoyed being with his family and was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Polk County.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Dagenais of Cleveland; son, Danny Dagenais and his wife, Carrie, of Trenton, Mich.; daughter, Debbie Cook of Cleveland; five grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; sister, Jean Ruffner of Wyandotte, Mich.; and several nieces and nephew.
The Remembrance of Life Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 1 p.m. from the Shiloh Baptist Church in Polk County with the Rev. Charlie Campbell officiating.
A graveside service and interment will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date.
The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. just before the service at the Shiloh Baptist Church.
