Carolyn “Sue” Constant Overton was welcomed in the arms of her loving Savior, on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at her earthly home in Murfreesboro.

Sue was a graduate of Cleveland High School, where she held many trophies for swimming, track, volleyball, skating, softball and walking. Even in her wheelchair, she just could not be stopped. God gave her legs we could not see and the strength to fight what some thought impossible. From no battle would she turn away, fear was not her gain. Like an eagle she soared in a battle with the strength of Angels pushing the pathway open. Sue was a nice, decent, kind and respectful young woman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Overton; daughter, Carolyn Louise Constant; mother, Mary L. Constant; brother, Gail T. Constant; sister, Kimberly L. Constant; grandparents, George and Eva L. Peters Constant; and uncles: Marshall L., George W. and Gary V. Constant.

She leaves to mourn her passing her father, Barkie Swafford; son, David D’Marest Constant of Lorain, Ohio; her faithful daughter, Angela N. Willis of Nashville; grandchildren: Clarlarzion Constant and Ra’Nasia Willis; brother, Regg Constant; uncle, Robert (Nancy) Constant; aunts, Mildred Taylor and Ann l. Mastin; great-aunt, Adella Jones; nieces: Vira Linsley, Greta Looney and Davada Piersaul; special friends: Gretta Swafford, Faye Linsley, Griselda Mee and Maxine Scott; a host of other relatives and friends.

Sue “Girley Girl” never met a stranger, and all were welcome in her home. As she would say, “If you want to know about me, ‘ASK GOD,’ he’s got it all.”

The body may be viewed Friday May 23, 2014, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home, 265 Fair St. S.E.
