Hubert (Buddy) Miles Stuckey, Jr., 68, of Georgetown, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, in a local hospital.
He was born June 26, 1945, in Knox County. He was a hard worker, retiring from Cleveland City Schools in 1996, while also driving a truck part-time, working at the U.S. Forest Service as both a forest ranger and fire crew leader during the summers, and running the family farm.
Upon retirement from the school system, he continued to drive a truck. He then retired from USF Holland, where he was a 20-year member of the Teamsters.
He made friends wherever he went, even in his last days in the hospital.
He was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Miles Sr. and Margarette Cooper Stuckey; and one brother, William (Sam) Stuckey.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Karen Stuckey; one daughte, Sylvia and husband, John Wagner, of Old Fort; two sons: Hubert (Chip) Miles III and wife, Debbie, of Cleveland, and Matthew Stuckey of Georgetown; and three grandchildren: Ashley Stuckey of East Ridge, and Cameron and Savannah Wagner of Old Fort.
Funeral will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor John Passavant officiating.
Graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at 2 p.m. in Johnston Cemetery in Meigs County. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Taylor, Tony Taylor, Donald Phillips, Brent Burgner, Russ Arthur and Paul Medlin.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
