The annual Lee University Stanley Butler Shootout will be held at the Chatata Valley Golf Club on May 7. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. and lunch will be provided at noon. The shotgun start is planned for 1 p.m.

The tournament will have a select shot, four-man team format. Entry fee will be $380 per team or $95 per player. “We still have a few team slots available, but the weather promises to be real nice and we’ve had a great deal of interest in this year’s tournament,” said Lee golf coach John Maupin.

Last year Lebron Sterchi scored a hole-in-one and walked away with a $10,000 check. This year there will be an opportunities to win $10,000 by scoring a hole-in-one on not one, but two of the par-3 holes. There will also be prizes for closest to the pins and longest drives.

“We’re excited,” said Maupin. “We have a lot of great door prizes and we’ve added a putting contest. The winner will receive $100.” Every member of the winning team will receive $125, second place $100, and third $50.

To enter your team and get your names on the list, call the Lee University athletic office at 614-8440 or email coach Maupin at jmaupin@leeuniversity.edu
