Eight Aldersgate Garden Club members — Billie Blair, Kay Cox, Cynthia Humes, Margenia McKissic, Regenia Piersaul, Charlotte Scott, Lelia Ware and Jackie Westfield — attended the TFGC Annual Convention in Chattanooga, April 1-2 at the Chattanooga Marriott Convention Center.

District III was the convention host, and Aldersgate is a member. The theme for the convention was “Dream Gardens.”

TFGC Awards for 2013 were presented during the formal banquet on April 2. Aldersgate members received first-place club awards for Horticulture, Litter Control and Environmental Education.

The club received second place for Conservation Projects. Third-place awards were presented to the club for Public Relations and National Garden Week. Honorable Mention club awards were received for Promotion of Gardening Among Youth, Yearbook (Under 20 members) and Publicity Press Books (small club).

The Club Scrapbook received TFGC Recognition for first place in District III.

Individual awards were presented to Scott, second place, and Humes, third place, in Horticulture.

Cox was presented a First Place Award in Conservation. Humes was given the third-place award for Most Outstanding Club Program by a member for her “Tennessee Butterflies” program.
