Steve Harold Smith, 66, a resident of Chatsworth, Ga., went home to be with his Lord and Savior at his residence Monday, April 28, 2014.
He is preceded in death by his son, Steven Smith; stepdaughter, Tina McArthur; his father, Edward Huel Smith of Cisco, Ga.: brothers: Eugene Smith, Robert Smith and Eddie Smith.
He was a tufting mechanic for Aladdin Carpet Mills for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and camping. He enjoyed playing the guitar and loved all kinds of music. He will be missed by many and never forgotten by any.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Smith of Chatsworth, Ga.; mother, Elveda Smith of Cisco.; daughter, Shelia Green of Old Fort; son, Christopher Smith of Cleveland; stepson, Timothy Day of Oneida; sister, Lorene Banks and her husband, David of Ellijay, Ga.; brothers: Edward Smith and his wife, Kathy, John Smith and Joe Smith, all of Cisco.; sister, Nettie Griggs and her husband, Bobby, of Ellijay; three granddaughters; one grandson; one great-grandson; two step granddaughters; two step great-grandsons and one step grandson; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; and one special brother-in-law, Charles Brewster.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Ed Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery in Cisco with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
