Air Force Airman Quinn M. Dawsey graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Dawsey is the son of Philip Dawsey of Cleveland, and Lynn Bourgeios of Carriere, Miss.
He is a 2012 graduate of Cleveland High School.
Justin K. Walker
Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Justin K. Walker, son of Melvin and Tanda Walker of Charleston, along with approximately 6,000 other Sailors and Marines stationed aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman returned to Naval Station Norfolk, Va., marking the end of the ship's nine-month deployment to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operations.
While deployed, Truman conducted a full range of operations ranging from maritime security operations and multinational exercises, to providing air support for Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) in Afghanistan.
Truman also conducted integrated operations with the French Navy's Charles de Gaulle Strike Group over a five-week period in the Gulf of Oman, Arabian Sea and Arabian Gulf.
Squadrons assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 3 flew 2,902 combat sorties, or flights, totaling more than 16,450 hours in support of OEF.
The Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group consists of several deployed units including Commander, Carrier Strike Group (CCSG) 10 staff; CVW-3; 1st Combined Destroyer Squadron staff comprised of U.S. and Royal Navy personnel; guided-missile destroyers USS Bulkeley (DDG 84) and USS Mason (DDG 87); guided-missile cruisers USS Gettysburg (CG 64) and USS San Jacinto (CG 56); and fast combat support ship USNS Arctic (T-AOE 8).
Walker is a 2007 graduate of Walker Valley High School, Charleston.
