A new Adult Book Club is being formed at the library and will meet the third Wednesday of each month at 2 p.m. in the Carmichael House Conference Room. An informational meeting will be held April 16 at 2 p.m. to discuss upcoming reads and to distribute books for the first meeting in May.

Call the library if you are interested in attending the Adult Book Club or for additional information. This program is open to the public, age 18 and older.

The Westerns have been moved. If you are a Western book reader, the books have now been relocated to the Reading Room in the fiction area of the library, by our mysteries and large-print books.

The “2nd Sundays @ 2” will show “The Armstrong Lie” documentary, on April 13 in the Community Room. In 2009, Alex Gibney was hired to make a film about Lance Armstrong’s comeback to cycling. The project was shelved when a doping scandal erupted, and reopened after Armstrong’s confession.

“The Armstrong Lie” picks up in 2013 and presents a riveting, insider’s view of the unraveling of one of the most extraordinary stories in the history of sports. As Lance Armstrong himself says: “I didn’t live a lot of lies, but I lived one big one.”

An Evening with crime novelist C.A. Griffith has been announced by the Friends of the Library Association for April 24 at the Cleveland Country Club. Griffith is a retired major with the Cobb County (Ga.) Sheriff’s Office. His assignments over the last three decades included undercover narcotics, Atlanta DEA Task Force, fraud and fugitive investigations, and being commander of internal affairs as well as assistant division commander of field operations. He retired to devote his full attention to writing Grey Colson crime thrillers.

There will be an author reception at 6 p.m. ($35 per person or $60 a couple). The Author Talk at 7:30 p.m. will be $5 or free with a student ID. A question-and-answer session and book signing will follow the book talk.

Zumba will begin at the library each Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:10 a.m. beginning April 29 and continuing until May 29. This class will be limited to 25 and reservations are required. Contact the library at 472-2163 or stop by the Non-Fiction Desk to reserve your spot.
